My interest in Optometry was the result of being diagnosed with a ‘lazy eye’ as a child and my visits to the optometrist for eyecare & vision training, which allowed me to perform at my best at school. I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to ‘give back’ and help others achieve their potential by providing the best possible eyecare advice and vision solutions.

Ensuring Support Continuity

We are experiencing an unprecedented public health situation and we wanted to let you know that we are here for you. The Federal Minister for Health has advised optometry practices can remain open and therefore, we will continue to provide eye care & optical services to the best of our ability.

To make our practice safer we have decided to implement the following precautions:

  • Wearing face masks during consultations & client contact and frequent hand-washing
  • Wiping down instruments, chairs, display frames and surfaces regularly
  • Hand-sanitizer & wipes are readily available
  • Extended each consultation time to 1 hour
  • There are NO double bookings
  • Limiting people accompanying patients to consultations to just 1 (interpreters & carers)
  • Limiting the number of people to 2 only either in the waiting area or reception

To assist our patients, Dr John Musumeci Optometrist will provide the following services for those unable to come into the practice:

  • Telehealth consultations: Where possible, we can provide phone consultations to address any of your eye or vision related problems. Call 9727 5442 to speak directly to Dr John Musumeci Optometrist or email enquiries@drjohnmusumecioptometrist.com.au.
  • Home Delivery of Spectacles: We can post your completed & adjusted spectacles to your home address at no extra charge.
  • Home Delivery of Contact Lens: You can order your supply of contact lenses via phone or email and we can arrange delivery to your home address at no extra charge.

We have a duty to continue to provide eye care for our patients but at the same time, ensure we have a safe practice environment. This is a rapidly evolving situation and will always follow any Government advice in order to limit the further spread of COVID-19.

Finally, I hope you all remain healthy in this challenging time and don’t forget to support one another, especially those in need. We will get over this and there will be positive news. If we are united, we will all get to the other side.
